The HALT
What is The HALT?
A globally enabled platform where closed organisational communities, and open mixed communities can meet regularly in small groups which support the roles they inhabit at work. Roles where they support others but where they do not have anything available themselves.
Â
In professions where listening and providing care and compassion to others would be supported by sharing circles, supervision, debrief sessions, or access to continuing professional development, this is our equivalent.
Psycho-education
Planned sessions where the skills from coaching and counselling are brought into an educational space. Not to qualify or accredit, but to raise skills and awareness to complement people's work.
Facilitated Support Spaces
Facilitated group coaching and sharing spaces to support people who care for others in the workplace and need a confidential and non-judgemental space to decompress and be witnessed safely and compassionately.
Drop in Spaces
Sometimes we need a less formal space to meet and talk through the realities of our days and our living experiences. These spaces are similar in safe-containment to the Facilitated Support Spaces, but freer and less structured, more like finding an oasis where we can recuperate for a few moments.
The Roadmap to Connection

Hungry
Not for food necessarily, although that can be true. But perhaps for something real. For connection that means something, for rest that rests you, for a day that does not cost everything you have left. A hunger that has nothing in the kitchen for it.

Angry
Anger that has been living deep in the body for years. It manifests itself as impatience, as exhaustion, as the edge in your voice. Most of what organisations call stress, much of what they call disengagement, much of what we call sadness or tiredness, is anger with nowhere to go.

Lonely
Beyond the obvious aloneness of an empty room. The loneliness of being surrounded by people and still not known. Of carrying things that have no safe place to go in any of the roles you are required to inhabit. The loneliness that a full calendar cannot touch.

Tired
Sleepy, yes. But tired of performing. Tired of being fine. Tired that has nothing to do with sleep and everything to do with the sustained effort of being a person in the world without adequate support. Tired of saying fine when fine is not the word you're reaching for.Â
